Karen Gordon Interviews Marc Stecker (AKA The Wheelchair Kamikaze)

Were you on the call Tuesday night with me and Marc Stecker (AKA The Wheelchair Kamikaze)? We had a huge turnout and lots of really positive feedback!

When all was said and done, the interview was 1 hour and 43 minutes and overflowing with tons of info on CCSVI, stem cell treatment, the root causes of MS (and why Marc questions whether it’s an autoimmune disease at all), our wack health care system and why we need to remember that we’re not seen as patients, but as consumers, Marc’s opinions on the Disease Modifying Drugs,  advice on choosing a neurologist, and why it’s essential to be an informed, knowledgeable patient.

And that’s all before we got to the personal stuff! Marc spoke in his usual candid and insightful fashion on life in a wheelchair, how MS has changed him, the challenges he faces living with MS, and how he manages to live in the moment despite MS “sucking big fat hairy monkey balls” (I think that’s how he put it).

If you missed the interview and you want a peak, or you just want an audio clip you can keep to kick your ass whenever you start to get down, here’s a particularly inspirational excerpt from our interview:

I listened to most of the Kamakazi’s presentation Nd I think the guy is a genius. Would love to enjoy a Kalazi ride. He is really moving forward! Love the energy!

I listened to the Kamakazi’s talk and I agree, he is very inspirational and knowledgeable on CCSVI. I was slightly disturbed when he spoke of the fact that he has already “attended the funeral to his former (I assume walking) life” and has moved on to embrace his now wheelchair bound life. There is a multitude of evidence that dietary and lifestyle changes can stop the progression of MS and in fact even reverse some symptoms. It sounds like he is not willing to adopt these changes (he still wants to eat his cheeseburgers). I still enjoyed this interview and was very interested in the inforamtion on CCSVI. I now look forward to the rest of the series.

Marc Is a Genius! Inspiratioan !, I agree with him SO much it’s unbelievable !
I have had MS 20 years and have so many thoughts like Marc.

I’m grateful that he is such a believer in new ideas about the illness and is willing to be an inspirational person towards finding a way forward
