Candida: Your Silent Enemy

Today I want to share one of the conversations I had recently with Ann Boroch in prepping for our Autoimmune Warrior Bootcamp we’ll be launching on October 2nd. We talked about the pesky yeast known as candida – and why it’s the bane of many people’s existence (mine included). Ann is an expert on this matter, and recently published a book called The Candida Cure. No matter what it is that may ail you, an alarming number of maladies can be traced back to this yeasty bugger. So check out the video and get...

Enrollment is Open for the Autoimmune Warrior Bootcamp!

Back in the spring, I had posted several times about the 7-Week Autoimmune Warrior Bootcamp Webinar Series Ann Boroch and I were planning to launch. Unfortunately at that time it was postponed due to deaths of loved ones both in my life and hers. Since then, I’ve received tons of inquiries asking when the course would be rescheduled. Well, today I have good news! We’re back on track and gearing up to launch the series on October 2nd! We opened enrollment on Friday morning and have been totally stoked by how many people...

Dr. Sadiq

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of interviewing the highly sought-after internationally acknowledged expert in multiple sclerosis, neurologist Dr. Saud Sadiq. Dr. Sadiq is the director and senior research scientist at the Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York, and has won numerous awards for his research and clinical activities. And I discovered after speaking with him that he’s also a really compassionate and kind man. * If you’re on my email list you already know about the interview and you had the opportunity to write in with questions you wanted me...

A Good Bet

A Good Bet

I went to a new chiropractor yesterday. As with all doctors, when you visit for the first time, they go over your chart. He saw that I had MS, and he said, “I was engaged to a woman who had MS many years ago. My dad didn’t want me to marry her though because he said it’s not a good bet. I said ‘C’mon dad, I’m a good Christian, I’m not like that.’” Now this doctor seemed to a be a very kind man and he seemed genuinely caring. I think he was just...

Karen Gordon Interviews Myelin Repair Foundation President Scott Johnson

As many of you may already know, I had the honor of speaking with Myelin Repair Foundation President Scott Johnson yesterday. We spoke for about 45 minutes about the problems with our current drug development system and how the Myelin Repair Foundation is working to create massive systemic change to bring effective MS drugs to you much faster. The success they’ve already had in changing an archaic and bureaucratic system is quite impressive. It was informative and inspiring to hear from Scott Johnson himself about why he started the company and what he anticipates...

Karen Gordon Interviews Dr. Terry Wahls

Since my interview with Terry Wahls, MD on Wednesday night (Week Three of the MS Voices Interview Series), I’ve been eating lots of kale. How could I not? My mitochondria are hungry, and I haven’t been properly feeding them. Now, every time I eat my kale, I’ve been imagining my mitochondria – those littleĀ  translucent dudes – with little party hats and plastic party whistles all gathered up together having a big celebration of my newfound knowledge. “She’s feeding us! She’s finally feeding us!” they’re exclaiming, as they gather strength and energy. And the...

Up From The Chair: Dr. Terry Wahls’ Story

September 13, 2010

This morning I had a great conversation with Terry Wahls, M.D., in preparation for our interview Wednesday, which will be airing live at 9 P.M. EST and is free to attend. (If you haven’t signed up yet, just click on the MS Voices link at the top of this page to do so.) Dr. Wahls’ story is truly inspiring, but more than just that, she’ll be sharing the secrets she discovered that led to her journey back to health. The information she has – if you implement it – could very well lead to...

Karen Gordon Interviews Marc Stecker (AKA The Wheelchair Kamikaze)

Were you on the call Tuesday night with me and Marc Stecker (AKA The Wheelchair Kamikaze)? We had a huge turnout and lots of really positive feedback! When all was said and done, the interview was 1 hour and 43 minutes and overflowing with tons of info on CCSVI, stem cell treatment, the root causes of MS (and why Marc questions whether it’s an autoimmune disease at all), our wack health care system and why we need to remember that we’re not seen as patients, but as consumers, Marc’s opinions on the Disease Modifying...

Karen Gordon Interviews Prof. George Jelinek

If you weren’t able to make it on the live call last Thursday (the first in the MS Voices Interview Series), below is an excerpt from my 1 hr and 27 minute interview with Prof. Jelinek. In the excerpt, he discusses the flaws in the scientific studies which “prove” the effectiveness of the interferon drugs. As is Jelinek’s style, he explains complex science in easy-to-follow layman’s terms, so that it’s accessible for everyone. This excerpt is just a small portion of what was an information-PACKED and very inspirational interview. I personally learned a lot...

MS Voices (or, I’m Mad as Hell)

MS Voices (or, I’m Mad as Hell)

I’m mad as hell. Usually I go easy on doctors, because I truly believe they mean well. But this time, I need to rage. At least for the duration of this post. A member of my extended family was just diagnosed with MS. His sister reached out to me, asking if I could speak with him. I wrote back and said of course and gave her my number so that he could call me. She replied, saying that he decided he didn’t want to call because he doesn’t think talking to anyone with MS...
